A Tour of the House

The house appears to have evolved over the
last century or so and is basically formed of three sections. The oldest part, being slightly elevated from the others, originally comprised of two upstairs rooms for family accommodation and two ground floor rooms for animal shelter. Over the years, presumably as the family grew, there have been two additional sections built and all three parts combined have now been transformed into our wonderful home. Many of the original local stone walls have been painstakingly restored by local artisans and tradesmen and the property retains many of the original characteristics
of its bygone age.

Casa Val d'Aso offers substantial accommodation for one or two families, comprising of:

Ground floor:

An entrance hall, providing spacious access to all other ground floor accommodation as well as to the first floor via the main staircase. From the hall there are small steps leading up to the kitchen which is state of the art whilst being sympathetic to its origins. The kitchen offers direct access to the outside dining terrace and also to a small breakfast room, laundry and WC. Back down to the hall you are led through the substantial formal dining room, comfortably equipped for eight, into the lounge area. This bright large room offers gentle countryside views, access
to a further balcony terrace and to the rear garden.

First Floor:

At the top of the stairs you enter a large landing area which serves as the first floor sitting room, complete with small sofa, (which converts into an additional double bed), log burner and views to the north and south. Up a few small steps brings you through a duck doorway into the oldest part of the house which has now been transformed into the first of two double bedroom suites. The bedroom itself has a kingsize bed, is well furnished and dual aspect. The bedroom leads to a large triple aspect bathroom which has been fitted in a contemporary style, to a very high standard with walk-in shower, luxury centre floor bath, large basin area and alcoved WC.

Back through the living room to a separate landing area which provides access to the family bathroom, one triple bedroom (two bunks & 1 single), one twin bedroom (two singles) and the second double bedroom suite. This is complete with kingsize double bed and modern en-suite bathroom with large shower, basin, bidet and WC. The views from this triple aspect bedroom are beautiful.

Generally, the first floor accommodation has been carefully considered to provide ample space for the family and also a high degree of privacy for dual family lets. The whole house has been beautifully renovated throughout and care has been taken to ensure the main fabric of the building is as it was. Throughout the house, the floors are of traditional Italian cotto and the ceilings and open rafter roof consist of chestnut beams with cotto claddings, all sympathetic to the original build.
